The new Yale Sync Smart Home Alarm brings burglar alarms into the Internet of Things era. It still has the traditional features of an alarm, like a number pad, PIR sensors, door sensors, and a big yellow box on the side of your house. But now it’s connected to a hub, so you can control it and get alerts on your phone. This system got all the attention because it has a way to send alerts to your phone. When you are not at home and the old alarm goes off, it just makes the people next door mad. With mobile notifications, you can know right away if something is wrong or not. If you use this with your Ring Doorbell, Blink XT outdoor cameras, and Relink indoor cameras, you can tell right away if there is an intruder and call the police and my neighbors.
Set up Sync System
The Sync system is called that because it can connect to a Philips Hue system. Once a system is set up, your Philips Hue lights will flash red when a break-in happens. Maybe this will not do much to let your neighbors know about a break-in, but it should scare off a burglar and hopefully make them think twice about coming in. You can also set up the system to work with Alexa, so you can ask it to set off the alarm or tell you what’s going on.
What are the costs?
As you might expect from a smart system, you can add as much as you want to this. So, if you have a big house and want full protection, you can buy more sensors. A simple sensor costs £39.98, or £109.98 for a pack of three. Motion sensors that are safe for pets cost £44.99 or £124.99. A door and window contact costs £32.99, an extra keypad to arm the system costs £39.98, and a remote key fob costs £32.99.
If you have the Conexis L1 Smart Lock or the Connected Keyless Smart Door Lock, you can buy an extra Sync Module for £39.98 that will let you connect the doors to the home alarm. Then, when you unlock your Yale Smart Door Lock, your alarm will turn off by itself.
How to set up?
Installing a smart system is often difficult and requires expert knowledge. Even though Yale has made it as easy as possible because everything is wireless and doesn’t require any drilling, we still recommend getting it done by a professional. You can consider consulting the Smart Alarm Pro as they are the experts in this field. When everything is set up, you have to pull all the tabs out of the devices to connect them to their batteries. If you want to add more sensors, you will need to follow the steps in the app, which include putting the hub into “learn mode” and pressing the buttons on the sensors to pair them.
Experts Internet Connection Alarm
There are a few things you need to know and you will be guided about them by the experts too. Before you put everything up, it’s best to set up the system on your phone and make sure it all works. The hub needs an Ethernet connection, and it doesn’t use a micro USB. Instead, it has a DC 9V/1A plug. If you lose power, the battery backup will keep it going, which is needed for it to keep working with the PIR/Keypad/Alarm if you lose power. Once it is plugged in and connected to the internet, you will need to download the Yale Home App and set up your account.
Overall, the Yale Sync Smart Home Alarm is the ultimate alarm you need for your home. It is easy to use and functional enough to give you peace of mind that your home and belongings are safe and secure.
